SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – The Warming Shelter, which gives the homeless in Sioux City a warm place to sleep during the cold winter nights, has closed for the 2018 – 2019 season.
The President of the Warming Shelter says during this season, they provided nearly 13,000 nights of shelter, and nearly 5,800 days of shelter.
It brings the total nights of shelter, since it started, to more than 63,000.
The Warming Shelter has provided more than 15,000 days of shelter since opening.
The facility will remain open on Sundays during the summer.
Residents can come shower, do laundry, and keep cool.
